Westbound traffic on Huntsville’s Interstate 565 is currently closed as of 11 a.m. following a crash involving at least seven vehicles, according to Huntsville police.

The crash occurred near Research Park.

First responders are currently on the scene evaluating injuries.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The interstate is closed on westbound lanes from Sparkman to Research Park.

Police are diverting drivers at the Sparkman Drive exit.
